Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS)

The Child Dental Benefit Scheme (CDBS) was introduced in January 2014 and replaced the Medicare teen dental plan.

Eligible children between the age of 2-17 years will have access to $1000 worth of dental services over two calendar years. The scheme provides for basic dental care including examinations, cleans, x-rays, fissure seals, fillings and extractions. It does not include services such orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry such as teeth whitening.

You can confirm your child’s eligibility and balance amount by accessing your Medicare online account at myGov or calling the Medicare general enquiries line on 132 011. Alternatively you can call our reception staff and they will only be happy to check eligibility for you if you have your medicare card on hand.
